For those of you w/ Linux just download one of the many RSS superkaramba wigets and modify it for wrongplanet. I've never felt the need to put RSS on my desktop so I really cant recommend any programs in particular. It's extremely easy to do though because superkaramba themes are always designed to be customizable.

Like w/ skrssreader just open the skrssreader.py and make it say

Code:
# URL of the RSS feed
rssfeed = "http://wrongplanet.net/forumRSS.php"
# Label of the newsticker
caption = "Wrong Planet"
imo skrssreader isn't that great of a theme (it was just what I found w/ google so it's the one I did this w/). Searching RSS at http://www.kde-look.org/content/search.php gives better results. karssh looks pretty good. You can read the posts with it and everything.

There's a gnome app similar to superkaramba but superkaramba will run in gnome,xfce4,etc.

That's cool. Now can someone make a Windows Desktop icon that counts down the days until Harry Potter 7?

I don't use Dashboard much anymore (except when I accidently click on it... lol), otherwise I'd download this. I would use an iPhone/iPod Touch app, however, if there was one and it worked on OS 2.0 and higher (everything I've tried downloading recently needed 3.0 or higher, but I didn't want to pay to upgrade yet again).

Maybe just make a mobile version of this forum to view from the Safari app instead of an actual app. Another forum I go to has a mobile version of the site that automatically comes up when you log in on a mobile device. That would be more convenient than having to zoom in and out and scrolling all over the place to read posts here from Safari (which I still do when I'm bored).

No, please don't put one of those stupid mobile versions that automatically comes up whether you like it or not! I can't stand that, the iPhone has a full internet browser for a reason, and it ain't for it to be crippled by those stupid mobile sites!

I can imagine someone actually making the actual iPhone app for it, that would actually be really awesome :D because then it would save me much time for the annoying constant loading on my iPod Touch.

It would be an awesome idea but instead, users should able to have the option to use the full site or the mobile site which in most case which most mobiles sites, you should be able to do... Like they used to do with myspace mobile site.
