'A2' May Be Better Than Regular Milk
If you haven't noticed, there's a new milk on the dairy shelves. It's called A2 milk, and some say it has potential to be better for your health.

A2 is a protein found in milk. Actually, the milk you have in your fridge probably has A-1 protein. Laura Kostner says, "Thousands of years ago, cows use to produce A2 milk and they called it the original milk. Then through breeding and mutations and so forth, the protein has changed to an A1 or A1/A2 blend. And with the changes, we think, come some of the modern diseases, the chronic diseases that we see." That's the big difference. Preliminary research shows A2 milk may provide more help in the fight against heart disease, diabetes and even autism. Lots of research still needs to be done, but the reason it works is because A2 is digested in your body a little differently, and therefore may not only be better for you, but Kostner says, "Some people can't tolerate regular milk. If they try this, they may be able to tolerate it very well." view article

I dont think its clear (at least not from that article) whether this type of milk is really 'good' for health in an active sense or merely less bad.

What are the advantages of drinking this milk over not drinking any milk whatsoever, and sourcing nutrients from elsewhere (without the various damaging compounds (eg growth factors) allegedly found in milk?)
