Can you give me some help for the final boss in Final Fantasy VI? That includes the three forms before Kefka. Also my levels are only between 43 and 55 and I don't have the Ultima spell. However, I am trying to beat it without those high levels and high spells. Is it possible?

I've got as far as the third form before and apparently you can steal the Ultima Weapon off it.

I just spammed Ultima, but I recommend using strong spells. Lvls 43 and 55 is fine.

What about Espers?

I think the Ultima Weapon can only be obtained by betting Ragnarok at the Coliseum. I could be mistaken, though.

Anyway, Kefka is VERY beatable at those levels without Ultima. If you have Flame Shields (fire element absorb) you can spam Merton for an easy win. Otherwise stick to Pearl and other strong attack magics, as well as any strong Rages or Dances. Sabin's final Blitz (Bum Rush I think?) is effective. Be sure to Life3 your characters whenever whoever has Life3 has a spare turn, go all out with your Elixirs and Megalixers and whatnot, throw every weapon you've got with Shadow, have Terra cast spells in Esper form, etc etc. You'll beat him easier than you think if you just remember there are no limits and you don't need to hold back.

Yeah, about Bum Rush, I don't have it. I admit I've come unequipped to the battle.

And also, I ended up killing Shadow on the floating continent.

With the strategy I've been using, I've managed to get to the third form. I start with Mog, Relm, Sabin and Cyan. Relm has Break so I cast that on the long arm, then I've been using Cyan's Tempest (I don't think Oblivion works properly on bosses) and Mog's Earth Blue's Dance (because Rock Slide and Boar Brigade do a lot of damage, and Sunbath restores a lot of health). I use both Sabin and Cyan to cure, although they only have Cure, no Cura or Curaga on both of them. (Cyan is equipped with the katana won from fiend).

On form 2 I find I struggle unless one of my characters has died, in which case Locke replaces them. Equipped with the Air Knife and the Valiant Knife (Though if you can steal Ultima Weapon off the third form then I would do that and replace the Air Knife with Ultima Weapon) he dishes out a lot of damage. Celes knows Blizzaga so I can do quite a bit of damage with that. Setzer is equipped with Valingarmada and knows Firaga, Blizzaga and Thundaga, as well as other spells from previous equipped Espers, Banish Teleport and Fire, Blizzard and Thunder. It never occurred to me to teach a character Meteor, so I regret that now.

Form 3 heals itself a lot. I can kill Lady easily but then the challenge comes from Rest (which apparently you can steal the Ultima Weapon off).

And I haven't got to Kefka himself yet but I've seen pictures on YouTube. Now if only I had the Master Scroll...

Vanish/x-zone :P

Though that's not very satisfying.

Thirteen years ago when I first beat the game's English language prototype, I had saved up my megalixers. That helped a great deal.

This FAQ looks like a decent start to forming a strategy:

Quote:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Fight 1
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't hold back. Cast Haste2 on everyone, and good attacks to use
are the Big four, Bum Rush, Umaro's throw, and also Cyan's Quadra
attacks. Or, adopt a strategy where 3 members cast powerful magic, and
the other heals and attacks in a while. If you have Shadow, throw the
Shurikens, but not weapons or Tack Stars. Save them. He'll do a final
attack, keep above 1100 HP or so.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Fight 2
---------------------------------------------------------------------

This time you have four targets. If they cast Haste2, cast Slow2 over
and over on them. The enemy at the back is the most dangerous as he
casts Life3. Oh. You should'nt bother with casting Life3 on yourselves
though. It's easy without it. A good strategy would have been to
equip everyone with Fire absorbing armor, then use Merton, Quake, W
Wind, etc. These guys deal out heavy Ice and Fire damage.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Fight 3
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Cast Regen, so that your HP will still be regenerated. Also cast
Life3 now. On everyone. Keep healed (Regen?), as he will dish out
lots of damage. The Bum Rush is extremely effective, and if you get
Gogo to mimic that, you'll dish out even more damage. Don't forget
the Haste2, and it should be over soon.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Kefka: The End
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Watch out for Fallen One, right after that, use a Megaelixir. Now,
go psycho. If you have Shadow, throw everything. Get Gogo to mimic
the person with a Gem Box/Ultima combo for a huge damage combo. Get
Sabin to Bum Rush, and Cyan to Quadra Slice. Smack him with Strago's
Grand Train, use Mog's dances, give Umaro a Green Cherry for full
effect. And if you are daring, very daring, use Merton, Quake and
W Wind to full effect, coupled with your Megaelixirs. Should be over
soon, good luck!

Unfortunately, I only have one megalixir. If you could buy then then I'd have plenty, but the only one I've found is in Kefka's tower.

And also, I'm playing the GBA version of the game so everything has had it's name changed, so Haste 2 is now Hastega and Bum Rush is now Phantom Rush.

Having Break on your team allows you to remove the long arm immediately.

As a matter of interest, where do you get the master scroll?

The Master Scroll (Or "Offering" in FFVI SNES and FFA) is in the underground castle. It's in a treasure chest, but you have to fight a boss. Atleast I think so. But I know It's in the underground castle.

Thanks. If I ever play through that again, I'll remember where it is.
