I always found learning new languages very pleasant. I hated school but learning languages is something I love, my ONLY form of education I actually enjoy. From my experience in meeting other aspies I have the idea many of them are quite good with words.

What languages do you speak somewhat fluently? And what languages do you plan to learn someday?

I speak 4 languages myself. Dutch (native language), English (native speaker level), French (advanced level) and German (advanced level). I also worked in all of those languages.

Although Dutch is my native tongue, I write poetry exclusively in English. I tend to think in Dutch (but switch to English very easily when speaking to a foreigner) but when it comes to my artistic creativity I use English all the time.

I would love to learn Hebrew and Norwegian to improve my chances of finding a job in Norway or Israel (countries of my dreams). I would also love to learn some Arabic at some point but learning Norsk or Ivrit (Hebrew) would be priority for me because of my emigration desires.

So far I speak 4 languages. I used to speak some Spanish but I forgot most of it due to a lack of people to speak it with.

English
Passable Spanish for working in a hospital lab
I took two Japanese classes with my daughter (her favorite subject), but promptly forgot it all
I self-studied Vietnamese way back in the 80's but didn't get too far
I took a class in Athabaskan while going to UAF (university of alaska at fairbanks)
German in high school (we did plays, sang songs, talked about school and travel... in german), but I can't remember much anymore

I would like to learn: French, fluent Spanish, Farsi, and Tuvan

2,English and workable French.
One of my interests is the study of words and names so I know the meanings of a lot of them
in various languages, although I can't necessarily string sentences together.
