Most Aspie Friendly City?

I would say the people I know here in my city are pretty friendly to me but I don't have a formal diagnosis. I would be afraid of losing everything I worked so hard to build if I had a diagnosis and that things I don't have yet would be forever out of reach.

I don't think you would. I actually found it easier once I had a diagnosis.

Nyc offers a lot of support services and people to meet.

I hesitate to mention parts of the SF Bay Area.

From what I understand, the Boston Area seems favorable; where the AANE (Asperger Autism NEtwork) (LINK) is located. From being on AANE's mailing list, AANE resources appear top notch.

Montreal might be good because we have a high tolerance level. It's an international city and people don't 'match'.
We get waves of refugees which is old news so we're ready with housing etc.
Whatever your home nation might be, we've got a community of it.
So aspies would be just another of 'all the others.'
Out of common courtesy we allow for mannerisms that might seem odd.

That being said, the Quebec Gov't is insane and we're always fighting racist legislation.
Currently we're fighting a law that forbids 'regligious insignia' on 'people in authority' -
in particular, a turban or a veil. There are bigots in the province and they vote.

The Boston area is very favorable but also western Massachusetts is good too,maybe even better

I live in the far western part of the state and Boston is 2 and a half hours away and my car is not that reliable

The 'ARC of San Francisco' serves clients with developmental disabilities, and also hosts meetings with the AASCEND agency. The www.aascend.org offers resources for HFA.

The San Francisco Adult Asperger Self-Help Meetup (AASHM) is a meetup group with hundreds of members, and has remained active for several years. Considering many meetup groups serving HFA, AASHM maintains longevity.

Your very lucky to be able to live in NYC I grew up in Queens until I was 14 and they really accept autism there compared to where I live now in Virginia Beach Virginia they don't push ABA in NYC as much as they do down here

The gays have San Francisco, Province Town, and Key West.

We aspies don't have an equivalent.

Except maybe Silicon Valley because that's a hotspot for autistic kids to be born (Ive heard).

I could kind of see it if it was explicit religious symbols, but particular types of clothing?

And honestly, I prefer the kinds of society where religious symbols aren't actually banned, they're just seen as really tacky to display if you're in a position of authority (religious institutions aside, one would imagine, as it would be themely/honest there).

Seeing someone in clothing which is associated with a particular non-majority religion just makes me think "Oh cool, one extra point on the diversity of mindsets/lifestyles scale for my city." Er... I don't really mean in a "collect them all!" kind of way, so much, more that it's evidence that the area isn't locked into one particular way of doing things.

Ever considered moving to a different country for awhile? I liked living in Thailand. Lots of people from all over the world and nobody expects you to fit perfectly into the code of conduct.

Heard that it's completely taken over by Narcissists already.

something about having boatloads of $$$$$$$ seems to amplify narcissism, IMHO.
