No. I never really BELIEVED in that type of stuff like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, etc. in the sense that I put absolute faith in them (I knew it was my parents all along), but I merely played along, being in the spirit of the season or whatnot.

Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy-believed in them because they were presented as real things by my family. Fortunately, my parents didn't elaborate much or try to convince me once I became disillusioned with those notions. Not sure how or when I realized these were fake creatures, though.

Image of Santa Claus has always (and still does) make me quite uncomfortable-can't stand facial hair, so SC was scary (fat old man in creepy outfit is NOT a type of person I gravitate towards) rather than appealing. Holiday music, the whole celebratory (not celebrity) culture repels me.

Personally think it's not nice to lie to kids (just MY opinion) and make up these stories yet insist these are real-it hobbles parental credibility. Don't see any good reason to be dishonest about such a thing, other than "tradition"-which doesn't hold weight (importance) for me. Liked fairy tales & myths as a kid, but there was no confusion about the (lack of) "truth" to them.

I did, but I had a funny feeling about it. When I was 5 I asked for the truth, and I felt relieved when I got it.

Maybe when i was reeeaaalllyyy little--- but having grown up in an apartment building with no chimneys to climb down, I started having doubts at a pretty young age. Besides--- all our gifts were wrapped in the wrapping paper that my mom bought, so we knew who WRAPPED the gifts and therefore who bought the gifts as well.

Never believed in him. Ever, ever, ever, ever. Ever. Then again, I've never really been one to capture the Christmas Spirit anyway. Bah humbug.

My son is 15 next month and I don't know when he truly stopped believing - we've never discussed it as he's always kept up the pretence for my daughter who's 8 and still goes through the whole tradition we have on xmas eve of putting out the carrots for Rudolph etc. I love that he does this for her.
