I'm pretty sure that reality shows are just there so simple-minded people have some shared experience they can all talk about. (had just been in dentist's office where two people had met for the first time and immediately launched into a conversation about some bachelor show)

(That said I did watch an episode of Dancing with the Stars and Rock Star:INXS and thought they were okay.)

I used to be in the "reality shows suck" crowd, I guess because of their immense popularity/trendiness. However, I'm past that phase, and I have come to realize that, like with all other genres of television, some reality shows are on a higher level than others. Shows like Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, Dancing With The Stars, and even American Idol are fine by me. It's the trashy shows like The Bachelor(ette), Fear Factor, and a bunch of FOX shows that I can't be bothered to think of that bug me.

...paving the way for some OTHER form of televisory torture.

After getting #E4 on my freeview box in the UK, I saw a bit, of what I thought was good tv.

Then BB 2005 came on, and, well, I only watched, the news.....

I hate reality shows, I somtimes watch the X-factor now and then, thats only to lol at the morons who can't sing.

I LOVE documentrys myself, mostly old war docs and norm and his carpentry workshop thingy shed.

I hate progs like chaging rooms though, carol smiley is f*****g awful.....I just want to smash my tv up when shes on.

What's wrong with eating arthropods? I enjoy crab, crayfish, shrimp. Not a big fan of lobster, I find it without much taste. Eating these things is not much different than munching on a large bird-eating spider from South America, or a hissing cockroach from Madagascar. I don't think that I could personally eat a spider unless it was not in its shell, and even then. I wouldn't have as much problem with the cockroach, assuming that it was cooked properly. I hope it tastes good, though.
