Yes... GAS RULES!
I absolutely hate electric stoves for the top burners.

My landlord brought up an old gas stove (50's era) from S.F. and put it in this house before I moved in.
I like the top, but the oven takes some work to keep going.

No wok, but I love my cast iron for cooking.

I have an electric stove with the glass cooktop (I really detest the infernal thing)...have to be careful not to slide the cast iron around on it...so far, I haven't killed it yet though and it's been about 5 years.

My mom, err, my other mom  , was an antique collector and we had no shortage of old cast iron cookware.... from skillets, to griddles, to cornbread molds.

I've got some of them today and I really like using them also.

I have to admit, I do own a non-stick skillet that I cook in sometimes.

A lot of meals are cooked in woks at my household. Strictly vegan, of course :P

My wok is pretty much the only pan I use. They're so wonderfully convenient. I don't like to make anything that takes longer than 10 minutes to cook, so into the wok goes pretty much everything.

you have a cast iron corn bread mold!! !! I want one of those so bad! I do however bake corn bread in a regular round cast iron skillet. And I do have 2 Teflon skillets also so don't feel bad my son.

I love stir-frys and thus I use my nice Teflon-coated aluminum wok constantly!

Yes I have one. Not cast iron, but some sort of carbon steel bashed out authentic one, probably made out of a car door :D

Only problem it is the style with the hoop handles rather than the long handle, which can be a bit tricky sometimes.

They are good. I think a wok and cast iron skillet are two essential must haves in terms of pans.

For about a year, I lived in a truck camper with only an electric wok as both my cooker and water heater. It was fine, but I have not used one much since.
