Pessimist. Well, realist. What I always say is that if you’re prepared for the worst you don’t get disappointed if it happens, and you are pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t

I would also say that I'm a realist. I mean, I'm not expecting a happy ending every single time I go through something, like in the movies; it's good to expect the worst out of things instead of always expecting the best. I think it is also good, however, to be optimistic and show a little confidence while striving toward goals, but not be overconfident; just enough to get you through. As a Christian, I have hope that God will answer my prayers and decide what's right in a turn of events, good or bad; so in those situations, I have hope, despite if something bad happens. Life is full of turns of joy, and turns of trials and grief; so, it's good to expect some bad things, yet good to expect some good as well.

I'm an optimist except for when something really bad happens like someone forgets my name because then I know that they don't like me at all.

As someone who forgets names (faces etc) regularly, that is not the case with me. Im just forgetful. Try and give people the benefit of the doubt with that if you can.

For some reason on this summer vacation/holiday, I have been extremely forgetful; like I forget where I put my cereal for breakfast a minute before, or my socks, or even instructions. Maybe I need to be in school again in order to be back to my usual self.

As someone who also forgets names regularly, I feel the need to point out that I was being sarcastic. I retract my former statement and come up with this one: I'm an optimist except for when something really bad happens like my stomach hurts, because then I know I have food poisoning and I will probably die.

I'm an optimist about some areas of my life, but very pessimistic about others.

So what happens if you don't have food poisoning and it's just a stomach ache? I tend to do that kinda thing too. I also expect the worst like others, and then feel remotely better when it's not true... but if someone doesn't talk to me or acknowledge me then I might be less forgiving because I know that it's their choice if they want to. I guess overall I'm a pessimist, although I always aim to think positive in exams and such because it gets you feeling and working better.

Oh dear. I will make one final effort to over-convey my sarcasm.

"I'm an optimist... except when it starts to rain cos I know I will probably drown. Especially if its a thunderstorm, because I know the world will explode."

Same.
But in some cases it is good to be pessimistic;
you can be positivily(?) surprised! Which ofcourse is better
than being optimistic and then be surprised in a bad way.

(please,help my english) :lol:

ROFLMAO! Well done Vivi! I dunno... I'm a weird combination I think! I'm one of those odd people who feels like life's not worth living and wants to die but suddenly changes their mind over something as simple as a daffodil!

I started out a realist. Now life has turned me into a pessimist.

Pessimist, am either right OR happy. Quote (paraphrased) from friend: "Under promise and over deliver". Meaning keep others hopes low and you're likely to pleasantly surprise them.
