Am I an optimist? Boy, I hope so!!

Seriously, I call myself a realist, like many others do. But I also think there are positives to negative moments in your life. A family member you love may die, but that helps you to appreciate the ones you have left (I learnt this when one of my grandmothers died after 6 months of cancer and I never went to see her... when another grandmother - I actually had 3  - was hospitalised with Emphysema (sp?) I went to the hospital straight away to see her).

On a lighter note, with each of my failed relationships with girls, I've learnt something new about girls, about relationships and social life in general. Still not enough to match NTs, but I'm learning.

So, I'm an optimistic realist...

I'm more of a depressive realist; I think that might be what keeps me going in my life, pushing hard, etc. etc.

Well that and caffeine.

((Both of those sentences were intended to be humorous but true; I don't know if anyone will get the first one though))

What if someone was so optimist that they were pessimistic, or that someone was so pessimist hat they were optimist? jk/lol. I don't know if that's possible, but it would be interesting to understand.

I'm split, right down the middle. I just try to live my life, from day to day.

I will sum this up in my favourite saying:

It's not pessism, it's accuracy.

I prefer the term 'realist', however, I would say I'm definatly a pessimist.
Think about it:

If I'm wrong, that is a Good Thing(tm). I win.
If I'm right, I'm prepared for the worst. I win.
Therefore, I win 100% of the time.

The optimist just inflates his hopes for the best and don't put effort into fail-safe sollutions.
This might feel good, in a deterministic sort of way, but that feeling is the only positive thing about it, because when things fail, he's not prepared.

Depends on the time of day! Pretty optomistic in the morning, then I clear the sleep from my eyes...

I'm a hard-core pessimist, and optimists irritate me to no end.
