Mine;

Prince Myshkin (The Idiot, Dostoevsky). When I am feeling too good about myself, I am the innocent, clueless, misunderstood creature who is too beautiful for nineteenth century society.

The anonymous narrator from Notes From the Underground (Dostoevsky). When I am depressed, this is how I feel.

Don Quixote. I too am prone to obsessive, idealistic delusions.

Oscar (The Tin Drum, Gunter Grass). Because I am just that weird.

I have very few that I can see myself in, but the major one for many years has been Raistlin Majere, the greatest Archmage that ever lived on Krynn. Like him, I have a somewhat fragile constitution, a sharp wit, and tend to unnerve those around me.
Like him, I will settle for nothing less than my due, and will stop at nothing to achieve my desires.

the train in Anna Karenina (sp?)..or maybe that's just my social skills.

I tend more to place myself in the story, and see what I'd do.

the girl in Speak, because she is funny inside her head but not so much out her mouth. and probably gollum, and holden caufield, and the mad wife in the attic from jane eyre, and the demon bartimaeus. but i would pick to be like Anita Blake because she's such a badass even though her books are not so good anymore, she is still a great character.

Inspector William Monk, in the Anne Perry mystery novels set in Victorian England, because if I were a man, I would be just like him.

Jane Eyre, from the book, "Jane Eyre." I just related to this character, a lot.
