There is no such thing as true love for me. Love will always be tainted by the needs of each other.

True love definitely exists (if my parents being married 20 years and still loving each other is any consideration)

The one thing I know that true love ISN'T, however, is anything related to me.

Love is allowing another to coexist in you.

How do I define love eh?

Love: Noun

A pack of lies. A fictional emotion created to instill a sense of superiority to non-human animals, used as an excuse to commit illogical acts or continue dead-end relationships with people who are absolutely worthless.

Eros, Philia, and Agape.

Inter-personal-wise, I would much like someone who could occasionally remind me of stuff I really ought to be doing if I intend to stay alive.
My idea of the loving relationship is someone sitting close enough so that I can hear, when I listen for it, that I am not utterly alone. It needn't even be in the same room.
Of course, no-one too loud would be good, either.

The sole reason for this "someone" being a woman is that I am, contrary to common belief, not asexual, at least not always. I can well consider holding someone, for instance in front of the tv.

there are lots of different types of love, I love my family- ie I love my sister so so much and can't imagine life without her, and then there's romantic love. loving the little things as well as the big things about someone- long after the initial infactuation has dulled. It can also be very painful!

Heinlein's definition....

Where the happiness of another is more important than your own.... paraphrased of course. Someday I'll have to look that one up again and write it down in my palmpilot.

I would fit that definition into the Agape-part of the three-fold definition I use (André Comte-Sponville's definition, that is).
