A Klingon once held a disruptor to my throat at a convention. It was out of nowhere. He just said the word "Starfleet" and looked really mad. Luckily an ensign saw what was happening and yelled "freeze Klingon scum!" A bunch of Federation officers with phasers circled around. The Klingon said I wasn't worth it and let me go.

I like them all. But I must agree with the bolded statement.

Which reminds me. I think my new dvd is in the mailbox.

Oh.

Looks like I vanquished your enthusiasm.

Back on the original topic, I have a dream of going to a Star Trek convention just to people watch. Well, okay, and maybe to meet Captain Picard. And dress like a Klingon. Er, just kidding about that last part.

No Trek conventions for me, I'm an Anime Nutcase, I'm going as Vash. I have the blonde hair, I just need to find the big red coat.

But I am a Trek fan, I lost my faith in Star Wars after the new three and the series that's coming out soon. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP LUCAS, HE NEEDS NEW MATERIAL!

No kidding. Those new movies were disappointing.

Which anime convention do you go to? I'm going to SakuraCon this spring.

They're only like that because he set the bar so high with the first trilogy, just like the Matrix sequels are not as good as the original.

I didn't think the second trilogy was that bad. I enjoyed Episode 3. So I had to vote Star Wars. The last time I saw a Star Trek episode was in my Philosophy class last year. I don't remember why we were watching Star Trek in Philosophy.

What is this Doctor Who? The only place I've ever heard of it is on WP.

Star Wars is cheesy and has terrible dialogue. While I like science fiction, it represents the side of science fiction that I dislike.

I never really liked Star Trek. I prefer Star Wars.

I'm a little surprised that you heard of a New Zealand show like The Tribe, something I had never heard of until I looked up a Wikipedia article on people with AS (and found The Tribe's creator listed), and yet you have never heard of Doctor Who. It rivals Star Trek as the most popular sci-fi show of all time, a British production that has been around since 1963.

At a glance, Doctor Who is about the adventures of a mysterious time-travelling alien known only as the Doctor. While he appears human, he actually isn't. He travels through time and space in a time/space machine called the TARDIS, which, on the outside, looks like an old police box that was around Britain in the 30's-60's, on the inside, is this labyrinthian ship. The Doctor rights wrongs, fighting a variety of aliens such as the Daleks and the Cybermen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who

It was cancelled in 1989, but had various spin-off books, and a TV Movie in 1996, but it was recently revived in 2005, and is one of the BBC's most popular shows now.
