And that's because non-gamers might be too afraid to post.

MAY I CALL MYSELF THE FIRST NON GAMER TO POST IN THE THREAD!! !

i dont play any games... unless the stock market counts as a "game"

multitudes of reasons i dont play games,

1. earlier in life when i did have the physical ability to use a controller correctly games that were harder would piss the hell out of me, so i destroyed about 20 controllers in my life

2. since i got this disease i havent played a single video game due to the total loss of good hand eye coordination and motor control. lucky i still have enough to type on the computer. reason is a game you have to be computing at real time what to do whereas a computer keyboard its hardwired into my brain how to type (motor planned)

Male gamer :) just to get back to topic :)

Played far too many games to count.

Favourite UFO: Enemy Unknown. Many nights spent playing, eventually watching the sun come up. (known as X-Com: UFO Defense in USA)
First game: Dragonfire on the Atari 2600.
Best Achievement: Winning the Call of Duty tournament at a LAN. Pocketed a GeForce :)

And best place for cheap games is the 4sale section of a newspaper. That's how I get rid of all my games. That, or straight in the bin.

video games is a big part of my life

Then I got a NES with mario/duck hunt an used to rent games for it all the time

Then SNES playing awesome games like Final fantasy/zelda stuff

Then I got a gamin PC I grew up playing starcraft everyday after school for 8-10 hours straight which i stayed up till about 2a.m. playing cuz i could never go to sleep

heh now i mostly just buy all the new gaming systems to keep me occupied its a big hobby for me an my current obsession its much easier for me to chat/play games online then it is EVEN though i still don't fit in 100% even online chatting/gaming it just feels a lot easier for me then doin it in real life

OK, I've been proven wrong.

oh and also im adding a third/fourth reason to my roster of reasons

3. a lot of the games i liked were getting moved to PS3 and those really expensive boxes and i still have just a sad lonely PS2 and gamecube and nintendo DS... all of which i stopped playing immediately when in last october my fine motor control went kaflooey... and there were only a few games i really liked, like grand theft auto, really let me release anger inside the video game world and reak total havok in there...

4. ive always been known as the cheatcodester... never could get through a game without invincibility and other cheats... hell cant even get through the first level in most cases!

Strapples,
there is a headset coming out next year called Project Epoc which might be of interest.
If am remember correctly,it'll work on all consoles, and it uses the brains' own commands to control what is on screen,so it removes the need for anything physical to get in the way.
Am live with a person who has no mobility without use of wheel chair and has very little use of one of his arms,he is a gamer but is only able to play games that can use a steering wheel.
Am have passed on info about Project Epoc to staff down stairs and they are really interested in this,it might finally be a major step in technology for everyone who is currently unable to play games because of disability but want to.
There are videos of people using the prototype headset on youtube, and the makers website is- http://www.emotiv.com -but it's a bit crap with not much info, google search comes up with more.

Unfortunately am don't have any idea about the technical side of it,this is probably something they are going to announce next year before the release, and likely they're going to change the rubbishy name as well.
They have given an example with it being successfully used on someone who is completely paralysed, but as yet nothing about how neurological conditions can influence whether Project epoc works or not.

the problem is most paralyzed people ONLY have spinal cord problems/injury... my problems are complete neurological system... although i may possibly not have progressive brain damage (unconfirmed, confirmed cerebral palsy) i have progressive spinal cord issues...

hence the entire neurologic system is affected and so EEG recordings are a real b***h, this would probably be a bigger b***h cuz i have to try to control something with what fuxx0red brain waves i have...
