If there was a social/support group for individuals with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome near your home... where you could drop in at any time to "hang out", meet new friends and have fun... would you become a member?

I might give it a shot when I'm feeling lonely or something. If it was a good experience I'd go more often.

I am currently working on restarting a GRASP chapter in the Erie, PA area to have just such an option for myself and others. Check GRASP out at www.grasp.org, see if there is a chapter in your area, and start one if you like the organizations goals.

I'd actually force myself to go, I think.

Then I'd lose motivation and anxiety would take over.

Though there isn't anything in the barren wasteland where I live so this is all moot.

I'd only go if most or all of the other members knew ASL. I am a proud Signer & mostly nonverbal, so if most or all of the members were non-Signers, that'd be no good for me. Someone should start a group for Aspies who prefer ASL.
