What movies are about AS characters in your opinion?

I say Dumb and Dumber, and Mystery Men for starters.

Edward Scissorhands. As a child I related spiritually so much with Edward that I would sit and cry through the whole film, even at age 5. I didn't know why until I was diagnosed at 16.

Prot, the character played by Kevin Spacey in K-PAX (2001). Beautiful performance; thoroughly absorbing and hauntingly ambiguous film. Jeff Bridges also appears, seventeen years after he too played the role of an alien in human form in Starman - another excellent movie.

In the movie Stranger Than Fiction that came out earlier this year, I'm pretty sure the main character had AS.

Speaking of films, don't you think that John from "The Green Mile" is a person from autistic spectrum? Not having AS, of course, but autistic. Once I even mentioned this in "Television, Film, and Video" section but nobody answered me then.

Benny & Joon is aspie like. You see lot of the behavior.

"You're out of your tree."
"It's not my tree."

Outcast character, shyness, obsession with old movies and dresses up like his favorite hero, innocence and naivety.

Joon, dislikes loud music, has her routines, troubles with communication like the time when she couldn't explain to Benny about Sam cleaning the house, and meltdown on the bus.

Dumb and Dumber? Aspies aren't that stupid. No one is.

La Science des rêves (The Science of Sleep), the character Stéphane

He may be my favorite fictional character ever....

[ETA] Here are some quotes: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0354899/quotes

Stephane: I am your neighbor and a liar. By the way, do you have Zoe's number?

Stéphanie: [to Stéphane] You have a serious problem of distorting reality. You could sleep with the entire planet and still feel rejected.

Stephane: Will you marry me when you are seventy? You'd have nothing to lose.

Stéphanie: How's your head?
Stephane: It's okay. It's not normal though...
Stéphanie: It's never going to be.

Stephane: I like your boobs. They're very friendly and unpretentious.

Guy: [after throwing Guy's TV set into the canal] It floats!
Stephane: Yeah, it floats.
Guy: Now the fish can watch crappy shows from below.

Stéphanie: I have big hands.
Stephane: That means you have a large penis.
Stephane: [embarrassed] ... That was inappropriate...

Stephane: P. S. R. Parallel Synchronized Randomness. An interesting brain rarity and our subject for today. Two people walk in opposite directions at the same time and then they make the same decision at the same time. Then they correct it, and then they correct it, and then they correct it, and then they correct it, and then they correct it. Basically, in a mathematical world these two little guys will stay looped for the end of time. The brain is the most complex thing in the universe and it's right behind the nose.
[plays drums]
Stephane: Fascinating!
