I won't have my own home until the Summer of next year, so no opinion.

Do you or anyone in your family have catchphrases they sometimes speak?

I used to say "whatever" too much. I can't think of any others.

"till" as that is a corruption of "'til."

Yes. I'm going to Sweden for Christmas this year imagine the coldness. I prefer it to heat.

Do you like Christmas?

Hate it. I always spend it alone, and I have to stay away from stores from November to January. Then there's the crassness of it all.

Do you sometimes find it difficult to say things verbally; including typing out your thoughts?

Verbally is extremely hard for me. Typing is much easier. I'm often surprised at the clarity of my thoughts when I start typing. The words come out almost effortlessly, and I'm not even aware of my feelings until I see them on the screen.

Organizing large amounts of information into something neat enough to communicate can be hard and (almost?) everything we say is an oversimplification. Talking is easier for me on average than writing because I'm not usually expected to communicate as much at once and I'm forced to communicate quickly if I'm already in a conversation so I don't have time to overthink. A lot of my more complex and abstract thoughts are difficult if not impossible to explain to people with differing intuitions but that seems universal even among NTs. I don't have shutdowns where I can't communicate at all but I often keep things to myself because I don't want to take the effort to explain them.

Yes. I got an exam tomorrow, yay me. But dreading all the techincal words they want will remain lodged in my brain and won't be able to access them until after the exam. Plus they have a stupid word limit as they are online. On paper I can waffle enough to get my point across grrr.

As for verbally not so much as I've learnt to subsitute words for words I can pronounce quicker but still have the same meaning.

I'm also mildly dyslexic so it probably doesn't help. But my reading and understanding is above my verbal and written skills.

Would you get rid of your autism if you could?

No, because that would mean getting rid of ME. Likewise I wouldn't want to be neurotypical. The things they do seem overwhelming, and to a large extent pointless. (Yes I know that's a generalisation).

Good luck on your exam! What topic is it?
