I'm not naturally impulsive.
My self control is unreliably inconsistent.

I won't know if I have all the discipline at one moment, only after an hour or weeks long there may not be any for the same range amount of time.

I'm diagnosed with Moderate Level ASD, as opposed to Aspergers or HFA. I'd say the best thing is my lack of interest in social norms or social conformity. I'm perfectly happy on my own. I don't even watch pop culture media or try to copy others in any way. I also really like stimming.

The worst thing? Maybe my photophobia (sensitivity to light), because it's nauseating and causes panic attacks. I can barely leave the house even on cloudy days. I can't function even inside the house, until the sun sets.

QUESTION: Thinking about who you are, and considering what about who you are is caused by your Autism...What is the ONE best thing, and the ONE worst thing about having Asperger's for you (meaning, if you were suddenly to become NT, you'd no longer have these two good/bad qualities)?

ANSWER:
To me, almost all of my autistic traits are "double-edged swords" (things that have both favorable and unfavorable consequences).

For example, I'm hyperaware of colors, smells, tastes, sounds, and textures in my environment. This means that certain aspects of the world around me can absolutely fill me with joy. I'm able to see things others cannot. My pattern recognition is fantastic, and it makes me pretty good at making observations, identifying what I am seeing, and taking photographs (I am a biologist and a naturalist).

HOWEVER, other aspects of the world (probably the majority) make my life a living hell. Loud noises, too many people, strong odors, and too much sensory input in general. It can be crippling at times.

My question for the next person:
Have you always lived in the same city/region? Would you ever consider relocating? If so, where would you go? Why would you choose to go there?

No I have not always lived in the same city / region.

I lived in two countries growing up, and in different cities / regions when I was in Uni or working.

I now own properties in different places very far apart, but my house remains "home base".

I don't think I would relocate entirely from my home. I need to be around my mother who is elderly.

Yes. I lived in the same city my whole life.
But... I'm not sure where I would move or that if I want to except nowhere.

The only other and plausible option would be at my mom's birthplace.
Which is islands away, where most of my maternal side of relatives live.

Upside is that I have a lot of relatives and it's cheaper to be there.
The downside is that I don't speak the regional language well and with lesser modern facilities.
