No, we went out often with grandparents, and grandmother had prepared things like, wentelteefjes (translation, what's up goog? cunnettesi? must be 'connection'? aha french toast " turning bit*ches" is way funnier, though)
or later when older, on hikes with parents food was in the rucksack(rugzak) aka backpack

With my grandparents lots of time. It even came with a complete set of everything that was needed.

As an adult when I make picnics it tends to be me throwing together whoever likes what in different lunch boxes. I like to make everyone happy when eating.
