I saw the Jay Leno interview, he made loads of eye contact and there was nothing inappropriate about his behaviour on the show. The next thing I am going to say will be a source of some argument: why is it that if there is something just a little slightly peculiar about different people there's an automatic assumption that they must have Asperger's? I don't understand that.

Well, I can understand it. When we have been told we were 'weird' all our lives because we really didn't see how 'weird' we were, we go looking for others that are 'weird' to see if we can relate.

by my own experience, after 73 years as Mr. Paul is, you have learned a few 'NT parlor tricks' like making loads of eye contact and not being inappropriate about one's behaviour.

What's your point. He doesn't have Asperger's. Get over it. You cannot make a diagnosis on someone based on a couple of stereotypical symptoms. Diagnosing someone with Asperger's is alot more complex than a hand gesture that may or may not be caused by over-stimulation. Sorry, but picking up a 'few NT tricks' isn't enough to trick a well-learned eye if you know what to look for.

Hey! you don't have to give me any attitude about my comments, Praetor2379. I made no diagnosis, I have no degree nor experience to do so, and didn't even AGREE that Ron Paul HAD Asperger's.

It wasn't like somehow I insulted your great grand father, so back off!

Sorry, Merle, I can get quite uptight when I am in debate mode. Something I have to work on. I am sorry for offending you.

That's ok, Praetor2379, I wasn't offended I was just trying to back off your energy a bit. Thanks for responding so quickly to my call for 'time out'.

I don't think this article was meant to be flattering. Notice how the referred to Paul as a racialist? Recently he has come under fire for racist comments that have appeared over a number of years in his newsletter. This article clearly is anti-Ron Paul and I don't think any of us Aspies should take it to any stock.

I find if you lie down with dogs you can get up with fleas. Ron Paul obviously has a political base and is loathe to leave it. It takes real organization and zeal to put up all those typing paper size RON PAUL signs out there. That takes planning on the grass roots. So either Ron Paul went across the country ( I live in Oregon where the signs are everywhere) and created this network, or that network existed already and that IS part of his base.

when you leave your name being used for whomever wants to use it, it gets you into prickly situations like this.
