I took the online challenge at computer training dot com and scored very well: 50-60% at Level 3.

I have an interview today with no pressure to make a decision. I realize I could do self studies, but their lab and equipment access, not to mention instructor guidance could prove much more valuable. The curriculum includes:
MCTS Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
MCP Microsoft Certified Professional
MCSA Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
Cabling Category 5 Cabling

To the tech profs here: What's your opinion on Computer schools in regards to cert prep and job placement?

Thanks!

Reply to self to kick start:

Benefits:

Hands On: Simulated real world experience with SOA equipment. Their are 4 build out labs at the campus near me. Hands on experience and instruction will be attractive to employers; self taught from books and small home network may not. Marketable entry level skills and certification after 9-10 weeks. Full instruction in 4 MCP areas in 6 months.

Career Services: A head hunter actively runs job searches for you, designs a cover letter and networks your resume.

Structured in class time ensures focus on learning. Home provides distractions.

Cons:
Cost - 25k, but will include full lab use any time during the day, a $750 computer voucher to use with Dell, numerous manuals and textbooks, Full registered versions of MS products. I also use Linux, but it's free. MS stuff costs.

Half-Pro for Con:
The school works closely with both Microsoft and SallieMae. deferred loans are available and SallieMae is good about working with students and offering decent rates.
