The movie Miracle Run is a true story about the lives of two autistics from childhood through high school. Unlike the movie Rainman, these autistics are more like us. They are higher functioning and appear much more normal than Rain Man. I felt like I was watching my own childhood when I saw this movie.

Miracle Run Info - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419967/
Plot Summary - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419967/plotsummary

Scheduled on the Lifetime Movie Network for February 8th at 8:00pm eastern standard time.

I love Miracle Run! This movie is a far more realistic portrayal of people with autism/AS.

I wish everyone saw Miracle Run instead of Rain Man. I'm going to tape it and show it to some people I know.

A movie about autistics with Mary-Louise Parker? Yummy. I like her. However, I find it difficult to associate "realistic" with the Lifetime Channel. I guess I'll just have to watch and find out. Thanks for the post.

*sigh*

Unfortunately I don't have cable anymore. Is this a repeat? Can I purchase it anywhere?

Thanks

I've seen it. Very good.

This movie, as with most of Lifetime's original movies, are based on a true story.

and we all know that being a true story and being based on a true story are the same thing. Lifetime makes the worst movies. I have a feeling that this will be pretty bad.

Does it show our struggles though? Like how we need routines, and sameness, our thinking, and that not all high funcitioning can achive everything even if you are "high" functioning?

Just wouldnt want the world to think we can do everything and if we dont it becomes a cop out or a lazy problem rather then we really can't do certain things

I'll have to check it out... but as far as "realistic"....

both for my childhood and my kids, we found "Napoleon Dynamite" to be eerily accurate...

I think it's a made for TV movie only. I don't think Lifetime made a DVD for it. You would have to tape it when it comes on Feb 8th.
