I figured This might be another good way to learn about new bands, or whatever besides the what are you listening to now thread. I hope you guys think this is a good idea. Put your ipod on shuffle, or somehow pick a random song, and post which one it is, and what you like about the song or the band.

Human league---Open your heart

Itunes says it's pop, but i don't think it is really. It's very good. Human league also made the big 80's hit "don't you want me" which is most remembered by it's chorus, "don't you want me baby, don't you want me oh Oh Oh Oh Oh..."

Open your heart has some great lyrics.

nice :)

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs - Matador
I like it because it reminds me of an era in my life, an also because it's so latin, that you won't find something similar in english.

Muzsikas - Koshid Wedding Dance
I found this group from the japanese movie "Only Yesterday", and fell in love with them. Always reminds me of the country (green landscapes).

Jose Feliciano - California Dreamin'
Awesome version by famous super-star José Feliciano. Rules. Best cover --ever.

I pressed by mistake the forward button twice :P

The Blood Brothers - Set Fire to the Face on Fire

(if you search for the song on youtube, I suggest finding a video of this song when they performed it on the Henry Rollins Show. They are destroyers of worlds.)

I just noticed you had to put a small description
so I just edited my message:
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp1191898.html#1191898

I always end up hating this threads when they get +20 pages, and no one will read them. Why don't we just keep it for February 2008 only?

1. "Fly With Me" - Raccoon

Just a typical Eurodance song. Nice to exercise to.

2. "Say It Right" - Nelly Furtado

I like this song's continuous, steady beat. It reminds me of winter, appropriate for the this time of year.

3. "Anime Phenomenon" - Shonen Knife

Being an otaku in every sense of the word, it's only natural I'd have this on my iPod.

4. "On Top Of The World" - Shonen Knife

A cheerful, sweet song. It cheers me up.

5. "1, 2, 3 Keep The Spirit Alive" - Jan Wayne

Another typical dance song. Has a tendency to get stuck in my head.

6. "I'm Like A Bird" - Nelly Furtado

I've liked this song since I was a kid. Nowadays, it reminds me of the anime Bleach.

7. "Where Da Hood At?" - DMX

Gangsta rap song. Very explicit lyrics. Still, I think it's fun to listen to.

8. "California Love" - Tupac

A classic. I love this song even though I don't live in California and it's been over a decade since this song was released.

9. "Simple Things" - Jim Brickman & Rebecca Lynn Howard

I've adored this song since I was a child. It's a sappy pop song about enjoying the small things in life.

10. "Happy" - Ashanti

I really like the beat in this song. I used to find the vocals annoying, but now I don't mind them.

Killing Lonliness - H.I.M

I don't just like this particular song...infact, I can't think of a song of theirs that I don't like.

1. "Without Me" - Eminem

I like the beat, and the clever way he rhymes. The lyrics are explicit though.

2. "Amaranth" - Nightwish

This has been one of my favorite songs this winter. The lyrics are quite beautiful, as is the music video. It reminds me of the anime Hellsing.

3. "Butterfly" - CrazyTown

VH1 called this an "awesomely bad" song. The lyrics aren't very good, but the beat is good and the chorus is catchy.

4. "Suga Suga" - Baby Bash

I don't really like the lyrics, but I love the beat (I know, I always say that...)

5. "Ridin'" - Chamillionaire

"They see me rollin', they hatin'". A classic.

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

You owe it to yourself to hear this song. Brilliant, brilliant song.

Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
They didn't write it, but I think it might be my favorite Zeppelin song. But I'm sure if it were "Ten Years Gone" that I was listening to right now, then I would claim that is my favorite. Ooh, I forgot about Kashmir too.

CCR - Born on the Bayou
This is an awesome CCR song that nobody ever talks about.

George Harrison and Eric Clapton - Cheer Down
The best thing George Harrison ever did without John Lennon.

Royksopp - Dead to the World
This is like some kind of awesome 21st century techno lullaby. It's soothing but not depressing, but I feel like if ever I was gonna commit suicide, I would probably listen to this song while doing it. It just makes me want to sleep. Forever. In a good way.
