When I had my first child, my wife did that is, I was walking down the hospital hall and it just struck like a thunder bolt. I knew I would kill to protect that child. That wife? Not today I wouldn't. But unfortunately saved her life. Oh well, can't get it right all the time. :wink: This one? If I don't get ya, my dog will. Take it to the bank.

well. . . I think this is a double edged sword.

I have gone to 'the ends of the earth' for my "love" only to find I was pretty much just in love with my own heroism. My 'love' had lived long before I ever came into the picture, and would go on living after he left our situation. I found my 'sacrifice' was mostly to keep my OWN emotional equilibrium stable, and had little to do with the actual well being of the 'loved one'.

maybe it's just me, but most of the time my emotional, physical and economic sacrifice was just to keep myself from having to feel the loss of the love I was addicted to just projected onto the 'other.'

This is the 'Love and Dating' section, so I am not talking about children in my care.

Well... I don't feel pain or fear... so there really isn't anything to stop me from risking everything for the sake of anyone.
The people I love though? I would not only die for them, I would live for them (and that is something quite a bit harder to do)
