Hi,

I thought that I formatted a partition of my old PC which has Debian/GNU/HURD on it, but as I saw today, it still exists and even boots again. However, I have no clue what I used as user- and what as administrator password... Do I have to reinstall or is there an easier solution?

TIA!

Wow, they got HURD working?

Can you mount the filesystem in another operating system and change /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow? Blank out root's password.

That should work, even though I won't be able to do it before next week (earlier if I find anything bootable). Yeah, the HURD exists and is in version 0.2 or 0.3 by now... Expect 1.0 next year  Here's Debian/GNU/HURD
