I've dissapeared for weeks at a time, the list time was for about a month. I've also never announced that I would be dissapearing, I just come and go according to mood/interest level.

You come and go, you come and go, like Boy Geroge. Some psoters want to know if anyone cares about them not being there, I guess. I would miss many of them if they permanently went, like when I miss newpaper columnists when they retire, resign or go on extended leaves of absence. I hope they return at some point.

Yeah, I've left and come back heaps of times. often for months, maybe 6 or more. (not permanent) People that whine and make threads about it just do it for the attention.

If you're going to leave just... leave. Don't make a big song and dance about it. And don't let that door hit you on the arse on the way out.

Hehe yep. Glad someone pointed this out. I think this is an example of "Confirmation bias", but it might not actually fall into this. Either way it's pretty close.

I didn't post on here for several months. I never "left" WP, just wasn't in the mood to post. Then one day I did want to post, so I did, though I never really "came back", and I've been posting a fair amount since then.

I don't see what the big deal is. If someone doesn't want to post, then don't. When he does want to post again, then do.

I guess it's like hale_bopp wrote, they just want the attention. Personally, I never bother to read such threads.

Yeah, I'm getting annoyed by these 'LOLZ IM LEAVING' topics only for the person to really be begging for attention. =_=
