the adventures of baron Munchhausen
quite a fanciful tale with some beautiful visuals. very monty-python-esque, with terry gilliam's direction.

*the straight story (true story of a disabled man who rides a lawnmower a few hundred miles over hill and dale and many breakdowns, to see his disabled younger brother one last time).
*the producers (very ethnic tale of an unethical producer down on his heels, needing a quick infusion of cash, who conspires with his accountant to concoct a broadway musical so horribly bad ["springtime for hitler"] that it is guaranteed to close on the first night, and make them a ton of money via overselling to investors [each investor promised 50-100%], but the damned thing ended up a hit and they end up in jail.
*roswell (plausible tale of our gov't's diabolical dishonesty to its own citizens)

I tried to watch The Lion King, but the first time I looked up at the screen Musafa was already dying.

chariots of fire [lovely score by Vangelis et al, a "new-agey" story of two frenemies competing at the 1924 olympic games, with an elegiac twist at the beginning and end.
