Have NTs described you as: "Living in your own little world"? Do you pick up that other NTs have that perception of you even if they don't mention anything and you are in a public place such as work?

It's pretty much true, so it doesn't bother me.

People view me with suspicion and perhaps contempt, while I am merely the observer with subtle jealosy.

They criticize my rigid and prudish behavior, while I am amused by their randomness and disregard of rules, priorities, and standards.

I am always living in my own "little world."

I've experienced this, as well.

Yes they have but I don't really concern myself with such things nowadays.

Persuaded by perceptions topic

NTs gather so much info by non-verbal communication, which I find to be hit and miss at best. So they misinterpret us and seem to not want to understand. Non verbal communication to them, is a corner-cutting tactic, employed because they lack the patience to understand the other. So much for the empathy of these Neuro Tyrants!

Another thumbs down here!

Yes, but that's mostly true. 8O

People tend to assume I'm a lazy, bossy, know-it-all jerk even though I'm not.

That's something I never thought of. I think I've always tried to be like an NT, I don't think sum of them suspected I had Asperger's, just a little shyness. However, when they get to know me a little better, I feel like I'm rejected in certain situtuations like an invitation to a wedding or a get together. They'll usually just want to hang out with me when they have nothing better to do. One advantage is I think I get to know them better than sum of their NT friends. I've found many spill their guts to me. Always there when I'm needed I guess.
