Not the best advertising though :(
From there, I took a greater interest in goth rock.

Here's some more bands for you to check out:

Merzbow
SPK
Einsturzende Neubauten ( earlier works only)
Capar Brotzmann
SPK
Controlled Bleeding/ Paul Lemos ( Tides era)
Esplendor Geometrico
Autechre
CopShootCop
Stickdog
SWANS ( Holy Money/ World Of Skin era)
Throbbing Gristle
Pigface
Killing Joke
Doc Wor Mirran
Monte Cazzaza
NON/ Boyd Rice
KK Null (Solo Works are best if you want industrial, if not Zeni Geva is a cool band)

If you like LOUD droning abstract guitar work, you'll like:

Keiji Haino/Fushitsusha
Sunn 0)))
Khanate

Hey Fogman, that's a great list. A lot of that's just my sort of thing, I'll be sure to check out the industrial picks I haven't heard.

Ever heard any AMM? The Crypt 1968 sessions are pretty intense, and their early improvisational racket was a likely influence on Merzbow and co. They even did a split with Merzbow, though I've never heard it myself.

industrial is okay. i used to listen to it more because it was more readily available than the things i really ended up getting into.

there is a lot of german on the playlist, lol. the short list of what i like, not limited to industrial (i suck at the more abstract genres. i relegated them all to the genre of 's**t i like'):

--- diary of dreams
--- rammstein
--- beborn beton
--- das ich
--- sisters of mercy
--- ego likeness
--- eisbrecher
--- voltaire
--- marilyn manson
--- type o negative
--- switchblade symphony

less so but still frequent -

--- heimetaerde
--- corvus corax
--- collide
--- kmfdm / mdfmk
--- msi (no idea why, lol)
--- assemblage 23
--- and one
--- this ascension
--- ace of base
--- the cruxshadows (though i've gotten real f*****g sick of them)

Well, here are bands that I like that are LOOSELY industrial/gothic, are associated with industrial/gothic, or have industrial ELEMENTS (even if they have many other elements), or are industrial metal or industrial rock. Few of them are pure/real industrial, though--I am aware of the differences in genres. Note that not all of these are bands that I totally love (some I only like a few songs from).

Abney Park
Alien Vampires
And One
Android Lust
Angelspit
Anorexia Nervosa
Apoptygma Berzerk
Aural Vampire
Beborn Beton
The Birthday Massacre
Blaqk Audio
Blutengel
Celldweller
Chiasm
Collide
Combichrist
Covenant
The Crüxshadows
Deadstar Assembly
Deathstars
Diary of Dreams
Die Form
Dr. Steel
E Nomine
Emilie Autumn
Funker Vogt
Hanzel Und Gretyl
I:Scintilla
Kidneythieves
The Knife
The Kovenant (later works)
L'Ame Immortelle
Marazene
Marilyn Manson
Mindless Self Indulgence
Mushroomhead (early works)
My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
Nine Inch Nails (of course)
Orgy
Psyclon Nine
Rammstein
The Retrosic
She Wants Revenge
Skinny Puppy
Tapping the Vein
:Wumpscut:
Zeromancer
Zombie Girl

I prefer my industrial fast and often monotonous, blurring with french hardcore and speedcore.

Favourite artists:

Manu le Malin (France)
Fracture4 (Scotland)
Stormtrooper (Germany)
Tieum (France)
Radium
Amiga Shock Force (Germany)
Lenny Dee (US)
Terrorist Kriss (Canada)

I've done a bit of work with ZG, but she's not really my style. Too burlesque.

I listen to KMFDM

And Rammstein, and NIN, and a bit of Ministry.

I never got into Megaherz, but Eisbrecher (their second band) is excellent. Check it out if you liked Megaherz/Rammstein.

I saw KMFDM in concert a few years back. It was a great show! The lead singer signed my purse, I don't really know what I did with it though.

I saw Gravity Kills too, years back; they were here with Sevendust and some other people. Also a good show, although I'm not a Sevendust fan. Gravity Kills was good.

I love gravity kills' self titled album. It's the one with "guilty" and "blame". They were such a cool band.
