Avril Lavigne's cover of Chop Suey. I actually like the original song by System of a Down, but Avril did a cover of it live that hit the internet and is just utterly painful to listen to.

This is the worst song of the year (if you can even call it a song). The comments are also hilariously bad:

Just compared to real punk, I find rancid kind of lame, sorry about lumping them into the pop punk category, but compared to the stuff I listened in the 70's, their style comes off as bratty, and not nihilistic as what I sort of expect from punk.

I bet most people here have never heard 'Pineapple Princess' by Annette Funicello.

Don't bother. It's horrible.

They have a hell of a lot more credibility than the pop-punk bands though. Offspring too. Rancid and Offspring got lumped in with Green Day and blink-182 (both bands I love, I must admit) but they're very little alike. Operation Ivy, who were kind of the precursor to Rancid and very influential, formed I think in the mid or even early eighties - the members of Rancid have been around and been punk for aaaaages. They're not the same as s**t like Simple Plan, man.

'Money in the Bank' - by John Anderson, country-western singer

(song is so nasal-sounding that I want to rip my hair out whenever I have the misfortune of hearing it)

Bubbly - Colbie Caillat

Is it possible to write something so... without poetry and brain power?

There's another one, but I don't want to look it up and I forgot the name.

that rap song (i'm not a fan of hip-hop, but i'm basically a walking music encyclopedia) is called "This is Why I'm Hot" by some guy named MiMs. The only reason I know this is because this said person's second song flopped completely on the Billboard Hot 100, not only dooming him to the fate of a 1-hit wonder but also proving his is indeed not hot. I love irony.
There are two other things that are funny about this song
1. He proclaims he's hot because he's fly, and is fly because he's hot.
2. He never actually gets around to saying WHY he's hot, only explaining how hot he is (and like I said, he's actually not).
Don't worry about not knowing who sings that song. Alot of modern rap for all I know is by the same person. It's all cookie cutter dancable stuff and sadly no one is interested in people like Dizzee Rascal or Aesop Rock or The Streets who actually rap well .

Soulja Boy is also pretty awful.
I do kinda like that Kanye West song "Stronger" because it sent Daft Punk album sales up at the record store I frequent.

A few other songs I hate:
"Behind Blue Eyes" by Limp Bizkit. Which killed the song entirely.
"I Jus' Lie" by Snot. I don't hate the band, and I don't hate the song very much, but its bands like Snot that caused Limp Bizkit to happen.
"Butterfly" by Crazy Town. I already mentioned this, but it bares repeating: this song is awful
anything by Nickelback, because its all really the same exact song over and over.
anything by Good Charlotte. Because they're not punk and they'll never be.
