I hate Christian Rap. I mean they say one thing but then they contridict what they're saying on another part.

Gangsta Rap. I don't like the way it sounds, and they always talking about stupid stuff like slapping girls, and they come up with the most outrageous dances like the Silly. That's not music. That's just ignorance. But people thinks it's weird for a black person not to like rap. But I'm black and I don't like it one bit.

Country. For some reason I just don't like it. Maybe it's probably the way they talk.

Gospel. I can't stand religious people and their gospel music. They listen to it every day. They always tell you what to do and what not to do. It's like their whole life is devoted to their god. I mean get a life!

disco
most rap (but not all)
country (gad, have they dumbed it down lately..;)
some jazz (mainly newer stuff...;)
show tunes,
most boy bands (ok, I liked Duran Duran...but that was 20 years ago...;)
Opera (Stop that singing!...;)
in general: anything overly sentimental, saccharine, manipulative, tested, repetitive (in the sense that it's played over and over...;) and cheesy...

I like every genre that I've listened to but my least favorite is R&B.

I pretty much detest all pop music that came after 1990.

If you truly love music, you can never really 'hate' any of it. imo

Yes, you're so right. But can I still hate post-1990s music anyway?

True, but I think as well its ok to, in any genre, have some reserved feelings for the stuff that's just not cutting it - and there's a lot of it out there. The way it presents itself it the production will seem shotty, the emotional angle will seem incongruent, it'll seem like the person making it over all doesn't have vision or at least doesn't have much of their own vision for what they're trying to do. Yeah, you'll have stuff that's underproduced in a stylized way and that's different, particularly when you can tell that it's an angle they're deliberately working and where the emotionality works well with it. For me though, seems like the genres that I gravite toward though just have the most of what I love, and particularly with drum & bass I can quite often turn on a d&b radio station and turn it right back off just because I can't stand what they're playing.

kenny g-jazz posturings
most of radio, top 40 pop
mainstream R&B, especially with the video hos. totally unimaginative.
