How do you pronounce Aspergers?

Here is how I pronounce Asperger's

A(as in Apple)

Sper (as in Whisper)

ger's (as in Burgers)

A-sper-ger's

I use to pronounce it Asperger's, but then I noticed it was spelled Asperger's, and I pronounced it with a soft G. But then I read online it sounds more like a 'j', so now i pronounce it like this: Ass-pur-jer's. I believe that is the correct way to pronounce it.

I pronounce it in the non-American way.

aSPERJers, emphasis on the second syllable - rather like someone given to having splurges, he'd be "a splurger".

American pronunciations tend to emphasize and elongate the A's in words, like BuckingHAM palace.
In Britain we say Bucking'm ... no ham.

I guess it simply boils down to how you split the word.

If you see the break before the 'S', then it'll be "A Spergers".

But if you see the break after the 'S', then it'll be "As Pergers".

I initially pronounced it with a soft g but I changed to a hard g after the expert I saw pronounced it differently to me.

Latin has a lot of hard consonantal sound.

Caesar should be pronounced like Kaiser.
