I've tried a few different browsers but still go back to IE. I'm wondering if anyone finds the browser they use to be better and for what reasons.

I use Firefox. Up until IE 7, I preferred IE, but once I updated to IE 7, I was not impressed. The screen was too cluttered, and there was a stupid built-in search bar that I did not want. I played around with it for a while, and I just couldn't get it to look the way I wanted it to. Then I downloaded Firefox, and I was able to make it look Exactly the way I wanted it, and I never looked back.

Mine's SeaMonkey, which is the reincarnation of the original Mozilla suite, before that got arbitrarily sliced up into Firefox and Thunderbird (with various bits left over).

I like having everything integrated. Plus most extensions work fine. Plus GreaseMonkey for the clever stuff. Plus being able to "fold away" the toolbars by just a click. Plus... the html editor... plus lots of other reasons, like no frilly eye candy.

I use Firefox too. Before some of the newer IE versions IE didn't have tabs. I used to use Netscape until I heard about Firefox. Then I tried Opera when I heard about that one. It's good too, but I'm used to Firefox.

I use a number of different browsers, and I bet most of you don't know them all: Konqueror on my main system since it is quicker than FF and hogs less RAM, dillo on my craptop since 36 MB of RAM suffice for it, Elinks on my craptop for the sites, where dillo would be overkill.

Firefox. Granted, some of the versions round about 2006 absolutely blew, but it's back on track now.

Firefox. I love two things about it:

1. That I can customise it down to a single line and get rid of all the unwanted buttons etc. (Best I can do with IE7 is two lines)

2. Add-ons such as AdBlocker Plus. I've just read a thread on another forum where people are complaining about all the annoying adverts on this site. I didn't even know there was any adverts on this site!! ! Since I'm never going to click any anyway it isn't like it is doing this site out of any click revenue. I've also only got dial-up internet being so far away from a town - this makes browsing much faster as it doesn't have to download those unwanted graphic adverts anyway.

Big thumbs up for Firefox.

Opera. It is a bit no nonsence, built in spellcheck (But Firefox has that too.) Neat features and... Speed dial.
But it suffers when animated bar ads happen. To that I do say ouch.

Firefox for life. Firebug is the best web development tool I've ever used, and I'm never laying it down.
