Every year my grandma gets me and my brother a metric buttload of candy for easter. I received over 7 pounds of candy from her this year alone. The problem is, she always sends me candy I either hate or am allergic to so I rarely eat much of it. As part of my haul this year, I recieved not one, not two, not five, but SEVEN boxes of peeps.

Who the hell likes these things anyway?

Every year my brother and I conduct massive, unrestricted peep warfare in the microwave. We stick a few peeps on a plate, stick toothpicks into them, turn the microwave on high and watch the inedible blobs swell to the size of grapefruits and "pop" each other.
Does anyone else do this? When I was younger I saw a special on TV about the more unorthodx uses for peeps.

You can make smores with Peeps, just squish them between chocolate and a graham cracker. You can also make a kind of molotov cocktail by lighting them on fire and throwing them at things (they stick).

First year of college, we had a huge Peep Jousting event in my suite. It was a lot of fun. We had both chickens and bunnies, so we had them fight against each other.

I still have pictures and videos of it. The remains of one of the epic battles:

Who got the honor of scrubbing out the microwave? I imagine that had to be rough, especially after the marshmallow ooze hardened to a plastic shell. I wish my son hadn't seen this thread. Now he wants to try it. I told him if he does that in my microwave, he's buying me a new one.

It was our RA's microwave, and I don't know what he did about getting it cleaned.

You could just make him clean afterwards. You won't even mess the microwave if you put them on a plate.

I just remembered something else that you can do in microwaves. Get a grape and cut it in half with a sharp knife, but not all the way. Leave a little bit of the skin connecting the two halves so that you can set them together with the insides facing up. Put it in your microwave like that and turn it on. It makes sparks and it's awesome. It doesn't seem to do any harm to the microwave.

*cries at the destruction*

I LOVE those nasty things. I don't think it's the taste so much as I love the way the sugar crunches when you bite into them.

I like them too. They're just marshmallows with extra sugar on the outside. What's not to like?

I don't know why, but the mental image of a flying, flaming Peep makes me have a giggle fit.
