Recently my parents decided to send me to this specialist residential college called 'Farleigh' in Somerset (United Kingdom) and I hate it there.

I have been there ever since 10th February and my life is getting worse because of it. My parents, however, cannot see how unhappy I am. Their true feelings are masked behind plastic smiles and lies!

I cannot live by rules, I never have been able to, and I am disgusted at how many rules the college have.

For instance, you are not allowed -

- To have alcohol in your room, or even DRINK alcohol at all (not even at a pub). Problem is, this helps me forget about my problems and seems to cause my 'AS' to vanish somehow.. weird!

- To go to bed later than 10pm, it has to be 10pm or before 10pm otherwise they fine you £5 ($10).

- To visit your friends without a member of staff.

- To go out on your own, in case you don't come back.. I mean, come on.. if I go out on my own and get lost, I'll just ring for help.. I'm not stupid!

And also I have a IEP (Individual Learning Plan) full of things I did not agree to, and I am starting to think that this college is not professional and has no f***ing clue how to help me!

It's supposed to promote 'independance,' but to be honest, they are making me feel like a baby... since I'm not allowed to do anything by myself!

Im sorry that this is such a long post, but I am really angry about this. And if you don't reply, it doesn't matter, all I really wanted was to get this off my chest.

sounds like 'The Prisoner'. Could be better, or worse. Half of life is figuring out how the system works, then evading or rearranging your part to get what you want. Hope you find it.

ha sounds like the s**t hole I'm about to be sent to to help with "independence" , lucky for me I only have to spend 3 months there before I get to go to a normal college. It can't hurt to go since I get college for free if I go. Not like I have any freedom at home anyway but then again I have no friends! lmao

Well, KatieRose....sounds like they're trying. Drinking will kill you eventually. How do you want to be helped. Can you tell someone that? I mean, not me, I live more than 6,000 miles from you, but someone there? 'cause if you can't...well, what do you want?

This is a quote to your college about their rules:

"Very interesting...but stupid!" -Arte Johnson

I didn't have a choice... my parents decided to send me there. They said they'd kick me out of the house if I didn't go!

They said I couldn't go to 'normal' college 'coz I would be too stressed and not be able to function. Now, I'm sorry for the language but... f*** them!! !
