I used to make this grinding/humming noise with my teeth when I was a child. But I can't and don't do it now.

Heh, I was thinking of asking this very same question.
I grind my teeth constantly. When I'm awake it's not as bad, but when I'm sleeping I grind like a mad man.
My Mom does it too.

I also chew like a cow sometimes when I'm sleeping, and if I wake up while chewing it takes me about a minute to will myself to stop because it feels calming.

My dentist told me that I have the wear on my molars of a 60 y/o.

I stim all night in my sleep.
Thank God there are now over-the-counter mouthguards, or I would have no teeth left at all. As it is they are way ground down...

It is like a mill stone around my neck. This is why I chew sugarless gum. Yes, teeth grinding is a stim.

Yes i had allot of wear on my teeth from grinding and had restoration work done on my teeth. The dentist made me a mouth guard to wear at night. I can't wear it because it is so uncomforable i'm unable to go to sleep. I'm not even sure if I grind in my sleep because when I wake up my teeth don't hurt. When I grind during the day unconsciously my teeth will hurt and that is how I know i'm grinding them. Now my teeth are all worn down again.
