What's your favorite word processor/text editor/typesetter, and why?

I like TextEdit, as it's easy to use, and a great alternitive to Word.
And I also like pico, because it's simple, easy to use, and just darn cool.

I type in notepad and just do manual conversions to fit the format of whatever I need.

I use note-pad for most of my writing and posting in BB code. If I want to make PDF files I use Open Office.

Word (it's what we have at work, so why not?)
Wordpad for some text stuff that needs formatting
Notepad for batch files.

Some folks swear by a free word processor called Crimson Editor. Don't know much, but they seem to think it hangs the moon...;)

Notepad++, so I can learn to program.
OpenOffice.org for serious word processing
Wordpad- Mainly for viewing files quickly.
Notepad-Small files mainly of the copy and paste type or true to its name.

I like text formatters like Troff and TeX although I am a bit more partial to Troff as I used it through high school to format most of my schoolwork and I consider it a lot easier to use than TeX in general.

I do also use OpenOffice but if i want something that looks really nicely typeset I like Troff or some other markup based
structured typesetting system.

Only if you're wearing it while you type!

I use TextEdit for many general things... sometimes for transferring type from the internet to my computer.

I use NeoOffice for creating written documents and the spreadsheet in it for my finances and all.

My daughter uses TextEdit for a lot more stuff than I do, and she uses OpenOffice for everything else.

I just prefer LaTeX for anything, which can not be pure ASCII. and for everything ASCII/UTF-8 (including LaTeX code), I have joe.

TextEdit-have Mac computer & it's only word processing application easy enough for me to learn (and use regularly). I refuse to use any MSN programs (if I can help it).

F*ck Notepad
F*ck Microsoft Office
F*ck Adobe Reader

Use Notepad++ instead of Notepad (superior to the crappy Microsoft version)
Use Openoffice instead of Microsoft Office (it's a free alternative, so why not use it?)
Use Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader (uses up way less ram and works just as good)

Neither TextPad nor pico is a word processor.
