I dunno, ever since zOMG came about people have been making their own forums for all kinds of things. It's a bit ridiculous in my point of view.

Ugh, I can't stand zOMG. So much hatred toward Christianity... :/

Ahem. Anyway... I'm glad people make forums for things that relate to their lives. Just think about what might have happened if Alex decided not to found WP...

im thinking about making a forum for people who like blood pressure cuffs.. i already own disabledplanet.net

im pretty sure bloodpressurecuffplanet.net would die instantly

zOMG is it's own planet, with it's own customs and way of beliefs. It also acts as a handy WP recycling bin.

But when I see WP members making, say, a drawing forum when we already have a well-established base here (not to mention much better places such as deviantART) then I fail to see a real point to it...
