Anyone see Snow Cake?

I just watched this, about a HFA woman who lost her only daughter to a car crash. I'm still processing how I feel about it. Anyone else see it, and what did you think?

Liked it, both in comparison to the few portrayals of ASD on film & as an "indie" movie. My "NT" bf & I enjoyed it together, we appreciate the "low-key" aspects of it-yet it wasn't boring, either. We also watched "Mozart & The Whale"-he liked that better than I did, though I did like the book (that "inspired" the story).

I wanted to watch it (only saw the trailer) because of Alan Rickman.

Having her Cake topic

I had heard of this movie but I did not ge around to watching it. I saw the trailer and the Alan Rickman interview. I am getting it at the first opportunity. I am familiar with the actors and actresses and I am glad the setting is Canadian. Of course, with all that snow!

It has some strange aspects to it, like some villagers over there (but maybe that is a prerequisite to life that far North).

It was an nice film, but not a really good one.

I think the part where the HFA woman answers the door to the character played by Alan Rickman, had a big impact on me. When she didn't make eye contact, and was twirling her hair, she reminded me so much of myself, that I actually felt embarrassed, LOL. And when she didn't want anyone in her kitchen, too.

but her way of dealing with the tragedy of her daughter's death I felt was under-developed.

I saw this movie but I didn't like Sigourney Weaver's acting. I don't think she pulled it off. Also, I don't think an HFA character would behave like that toward her daughter. Miscast. They should've gotten a better actress.

Alan Rickman will always be good, although he did have the easier role in this movie.

I was also put off by Sigourney Weaver's performance. I just didn't buy it. So a lot of it was hard to watch for me, though Alan Rickman was great as always.
