can anyone teach me how to read guitar tabs?

i asked my teacher to explain it to me but i didnt understand it at all anyone able to explain how to read them?

Fogman... that's a great way to teach tab, thanks for posting it.

Jainaday... I have seen other pages that guy has posted for guitar and I found several I really liked also.

Yeah.. this internet is a really cool thing. As an amateur musician myself, I have really enjoyed and benefitted from using the internet. :wink:

I'll just explain it. The tabs mimic a guitar neck when you're looking straight down at it. The one at the bottom of the tabs is the lowest string; the one at the top is the highest. The numbers signify which fret to play. Hope that helped!
