This is a most interesting topic as, I can recall how many ages back on IMDB I'd posted something similar.Anyways, getting back to my reply, I'll go with Eric Wynn from the film,"Cube:Zero" in that he' always sought more than being something of a mere observer and in fact he became more without ruining the film for anyone. Also, referring to the ending of the film where he became autistic...

Suzanne in 'Girl, Interrupted' and Satine in 'Moulin Rouge' (her desire to "fly away from here", her grace, and her ability to conceal her emotional problems and give the impression she is someone totally different to who she really is).

Detective Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Gil Grissom in CSI
Dr. House in House
Brian Kinney in Queer as Folk
Dexter in Dexter

Which is funny, because the first 3 have been accused by other characters in at least one episode of having Aspergers.

House and Kinney have a very blunt way of interacting with other people, which they play up for comedic effect - if only to entertain themselves. They've given up on trying to be soft with people because, ironically, people like them better when they're rude.

Dexter is just one big faker. He doesn't understand human emotion so he has to learn to mimic people to get by.

The ironic thing is that I'm female but I always relate more strongly to male characters. I find it very difficult to find any female role models. I can mimic females but I find it hard to identify with them - other than Angelina Jolie, who thinks a bit like the way I think. Too bad I look nothing like her. :)

This is interesting. At first I couldn't think of a single movie character I could identify with (unlike in comics where I can think of several), but then I remembered that I saw The Mask 14 times in the theater (I had a job that year, so I could afford it), so I guess I must have identified with Jim Carrey's character a lot. Good movie, too, btw.

I kind of identified with Brendan Fraser's character in Bedazzled, if only because there were times where I felt that I was coming off as annoying to other folks.

And I relate to Peter Parker/Spider-Man in that, I always try to do the right thing, even if it might cause me some personal gain.

ditto. especially when he'd be having a good time and theyd ask him to say something, and he'd smile and say he has nothing to say. my mouth dropped when i first heard that because i used to smile a lot but i could never think of anything to say.

^ I can't stand Jim Carrey, so sunshine lost a few points in my book...

As for me, definitely Magneto, then a tie between Professor X, Jean-Luc Picard, and Gandalf.

What can I say? Veterans of the Royal Shakespeare Company are the masters of acting. They just bring life to the characters they portray...

You must be a very daunting character if you identify with these four. I'm more like Lt. Barclay. :?

haha I've never liked Jim's comedies, never thought they were funny. But there's something enduring about Jim as a person- maybe the fact that he seems like he's hiding a very deep side inside a facade that everyone wants him to put on all the time. He always seems to have that smile on his face as well.
