I guess he figured if he got caught he'd have plenty of money to hire a lawyer :)

Honestly anyone working at a bank who sees a check this big is gonna ask themselves where the guy got it and investigate.

He should have laundered the money through a shell corporation or two.

How does one person come into $360 billion dollars legitimately and in such a short time?

Since no human being in the U.S. can validly write a personal check for $360,000,000,000, his attempted crime was quite obvious.
A tad greedy, wasn't he? $3.6 mil would have set him up for life.
(Not that they'd buy that either, but I'm just saying he could have chosen his dollar amount with less stupidity.)
