Is it because the cat is envious that the dog is bigger.

Maybe the dog doesn't like how the cat is more agile.

Why don't they just get along. Maybe there is some bad accient history between to the two animals.

In some circumstances yes. But in general they seem to not get along.

At my house, they do get along. In fact, my dog, Partner, and cat, Prince, are best friends.

Well my cat happened to use my labrador like a pet. Always pitpatting my dog with is paws and making sure he was always in sight. So my dog had to put up with it. What else could he do in his circumstance under sharper claws and agility?

My cats and dogs used to get along fine, most of the time. In fact Molly, the tabby that died last year, absolutely loved the dogs and was very upset when we had to have them put down (Anna & Daisy weren't quite so keen on her, though - in fact Anna often seemed quite annoyed that Molly was such a tag-along). Polly, our other cat, was very ambivalent towards them, though.

But there were no big bust-ups between the dogs & cats - the cats used to fight with each other occasionally, and the dogs would play-fight, but they would never chase the cats. In fact, if one of the cats got to the dogs' dinners before they did, they would stand and wait until the cat had finished before they started to eat...

We have 2 cats and the younger was tolerant of the dog. I think because we got the young cat when he was 5 wks old (he was feral) and the dog kind of mothered him, even though she had never had puppies.

I think of us aspies as cats and nt's as dogs.

In my mind, cats are more aloof, kind of observant. Dogs are obnoxious.

Our cats and dogs have always gotten along.

With each other.

Cats getting along with new kittens, that's a totally different story.

That's what propaganda does. It is a tool of society to brainwash us all into spending God knows how much money to fit it's standards.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I guess it depends on the cat/dog pairing. I've some that got along and some that didn't. I've seen some cats whip a big dog's a$$.

This is what they don't show you in the mainstream media.

That's like on one of those news shows when they say "This is what the government doesn't want you to see" or something of that nature.

It's because cats have AS and dogs are NT.

It depends on the dog and the cat.

My dog, Rocky, got along fine with my cat, Marmalade (Who passed away), but my cat Lunar hates him.
