80% because I have no clue what to say and how to say it in a logical, cohesive manner. I either talk in a stream-of-consciousness manner or pretty much nothing.

20% because I am afraid of sticking my foot in my mouth and emabarrassing myself. Happens every time.

Diogenes was sort of the Laozi of Greece
and founder of the Cynic school of philosophy.
He even told Alexander the Great where to stick it.
Parrhesia was his Virtü of Outspokenness, speaking
the unvarnished truth, bluntness, frankness, honesty.

Like when a woman comes home from the "beauty"
parlor with a dyke haircut and everybody is telling her
how cute she looks (and encouraging beauticians to
keep doing this). At best I'll say "It'll grow out" or
worse "you look like a guy with hormone problems."

The only times I don't talk:
1. Someone has put a gag in my mouth.
2. I have laryngitis.
3. I'm too stressed out to form coherent sentences.
4. I'm in the middle of a meltdown and actually can't talk.

Other than that... watch out 'cause I'll use up the dictionary given half a chance!

Oh, and:

5. I'm interested in what you're saying. :) It does actually happen! (You can tell because sooner or later I'll ask you five or six questions in quick succession...)
