But you can cure political ideals- as we all know, liberalism is a mental disorder, one which I personally suffered from for many years. All types of interventions were tried, but nothing really worked until I took an econ class. After that, I was cured.

Worked even better than chelation.

Jenny McCarthy needs to learn about the purpose of acceptance. She also needs to learn that you can't cure something that's not a disease.

I think she is trying to martyr herself. If I were a kid, I would be more prone to open up to Jim Carrey. He is interesting and silly.

Jenny McCarthy is a former porn model who believes that autism is caused by vaccines and that it can be cured through chelation and a variety of other dangerous quack snake-oil treatments.

am think if she really believes in all of the dangerous and unproven treatments,she should go through them all-full courses,to.
if anything,there should be a cure for such ignorance,it would be treatment at best,and not cure but might as well call them the same thing,for hype.
theres nothing wrong with being ignorant,if attempt to change/accept when its made obvious,but she is supporting dangerous stuff that is not proven to 'cure' autism,when there are a lot of better,safer therapies and meds out there already.

She put her son through these treatments, and hails them as successful because he learned to talk at some point.

Meanwhile, the most powerful "therapy" my daughter has undergone involves pictogram word tiles, and playing with her at her level (did you know that's an actual therapy? They call it "Floortime" - I just called it "playing with my little girl"). She has learned to speak (limited vocabulary, but it's there), and is learning to read (at school, she admits to around 50 words, but when she wants a particular TV show, she can read quite a few more words than that in the interactive cable menu...). She is not "cured", nor can she ever be - she's just learning as many coping mechanisms as she can handle at the moment. Is that a problem?

She was horrible in a television interview (was it with Larry King and a medical doctor? I can't remember). She got up in the doctor's face and told him autism is caused by vaccines and the medical establishment is all intentionally poisoning our kids.

She's obnoxious also because she can't just accept her kid - she must find an external source to blame. Many parents are not willing to accept that their kids aren't perfect, or that maybe she is in part responsible (genetically) for her son's condition. NT parents need to spend more time on acceptance and understanding, instead of spending all their energy blaming and fighting.

I have heard a lot of what she had to say..... I didn't like it. She's a annoying former porn star trying to place herself on a pedestal. She also claims to know more then university trained doctors.

Kind of odd, considering Jim Carrey appears to be on the spectrum, and she herself doesnt make a lot of eye contact with the camera and seems to be acting as if she is on stage... hmmmm.
