Did you talk with her?

I have heard a lot of what she had to say..... I didn't like it. She's a annoying former porn star trying to place herself on a pedestal. She also claims to know more then university trained doctors.

It's a sad world we live in when significant numbers of people choose to accept the medical advice of professional sluts over that of highly trained M.D.'s.

If you read Jenny's book, Evan is FAR from cured. He's an Aspie, through and through. He flaps his hands, rides elevators up and down, stares at ceiling fans, and talks endlessly about trains (what is it with Aspie boys and trains?) He learned to speak and gained a few socially acceptable behaviours through treatment. It should also be said Jenny tried a LOT of treatments, so it can't be said "Oh the diet cured him" or "the chelation healed him." He was also seeing the top specialists and going to special autism school. Which one actually helped him to move up the spectrum from Autie to Aspie I don't know. Maybe a combination.

Her vaccination views are nothing short of idiotic. She goes around claiming the MMR vaccine made him autistic, but if you read her book he was already showing clear signs of autism as a young baby and toddler.

I can't say this for certain, but I think Jenny is using the anti-vaccine and "I cured autism" angle to improve her career. She makes a ton of money selling her book every time she goes on TV screeching about vaccines. I'm sure she genuinely wants to help her son, but let's just say she's getting more out of this than help for Evan.

she probably just wants what's best for her son. Why judge her so harshly? She's a pioneer in some ways...AS awareness is new. I haven't watched the videos but I saw her on Larry King once. She seemed very stressed out and somewhat ...restless:(

If she was able to improve her son's life a bit, if he did improve, what's wrong with that? He will always be autistic or AS or whatever he is...but he'll also develop the tools to better communicate with the NT part of the world. He'll have both:)

***she isn't the only one claiming that the MMR vaccine could be linked to this. I have seen some very...worrying testimony from some families saying that immediately after the vaccination (like in 1 day or 2), the child changed abruptly. More research needs to be done.

She is claiming her son is cured and as a result parents who aren't rich get to listen to these people that watch the tv to find out about autism (which never really goes on about what is going on witht he child) and biomed. Then this biomed and diet crap is spread in which other parents who aren't rich and have very many options get to hear "It's the parents fault because Jenny cured her son using the diet. Parents are just being lazy about their child's autism. Sorry but diet doesn't work for all and the autism is still there.

She's using her son to sell products.

She's acting as if she's some martyr for autism when she's spreading false hope and she's on the cure bandwagon.

She's teaming up with autism speaks and I don't know what's really going on inside her head because a lady tried to tell her son was autistic and the lady was fired for it. If that doesn't show her true colors.

I don't like Jenny because it seems like she's taking on a niche market and boosting up her own self worth in the meantime degrading families that aren't as well off as her to face persecution by people who are ignorant about autism including teachers, prinipals, daycares and your average joe at a playground accusing other parents of not doing a good enough job because autism is curable because they read it from Jenny's book and saw it on CNN.

She's full of herself and maybe that's why some of us are a little annoyed because it's apparent.

People like her really have selfish motives in the guise of "helping" others when all her help really does is spread more lies and while she gets to have all the choices for her child in the world regarding schooling there are tons of parents who don't have such options and can't afford it either.

She doees not speak for all parents nor does she speak for those on the spectrum.

Sometimes in order to spread an agenda, you use celebrity. Isn't it an odd coincidence that she is joining forces with Cure Autism now which oddly enough Cure Autism Now points you to ....what website??

She's an actress for one and she's not good at fooling or lying. I thought I was supposed to be naive because of my difference but I find that alot of people who buy her nonsense are pretty naive.

Didn't she just google everything? Then some lady tells her that she is indigo and her son is crystal on the street which she included in her book and decided to make a little business off of some random lady's creative thinking?

HELLO! WAKE UP.

She isn't this nice polite mom just trying to help. She probably heard of her son's autism and the first thing that came to her mind is "FREAKING GREAT!" "This means I'm going to have to set more time aside so I might as well make it worth my time like how can I make money off of this at least!"

Seriously, how many books, products does she have now regarding her son's autism as if she needs anymore money?

Oh and she gets this mother Teresea of Autism treatment when she's so full of it? No thank you.

Do I really need to go on and on?

I feel outraged because this lady is being deceptive and she isn't spreading real awareness, she's actually spreading real deceit in the guise of pretending she knows first hand what is really going on when autism can not be cured.

She's also a credit horde.

She'd also be doing us all a favor by shaving her head.... I dare you all to watch her Opera appearance and count how many times she flips her hair back (which is stupid seeing she made her hair style like that)

I got so annoyed by it I couldn't even watch the rest of the video.

Q: My question is did your son play with their toys in the intended fashion (moving cars and making vroom noise!)?
Marisa L., Chula Vista, California, USA

A: When someone first asked me, “Can Evan play?” I was like, “yeah, of course Evan can play!” But I didn't realize that Evan was not actually "playing" with his toys. Evan lined up his toys a lot. He liked spinning objects and flapped his hands a lot. He would make a car go down a track, over and over and over and over again.

Once I was taught the “steps” of how children learn play, and what Evan was actually doing, I realized, “you know what, no … Evan can’t really play!”

That is one reason I wanted to start teach2talk and get our teach2play video series out there to parents. I can't stress how important play is!! ! Moms often think that children are playing if they are making their car go down the ramp over and over and over and over or holding onto a puzzle piece (instead of putting the puzzle piece in). They may just hold on to it, or play with door hinges, or line up toys. THIS IS NOT PLAYING. Children with autism often have trouble with imaginary and abstract play. Our teach2play series of DVDs can help.

....
I did that s**t when I was a kid and I'm pretty sure I was playing.
Stupid broad.

You're not serious? Go to TACA's web page and look at the biomedical "treatments" she's promoting.

in a sentence:

trying to cure someone with autism is like curing someone of death!

it's something you are not a disese.

p.s just cause her child can speak dosn't mean he's cured, it' called speach theropy not curing autism.

Seriously. My [eventual] potty-training did not signify a cure. My learning to clumsily walk was not a cure. My "graduation" from speech therapy when I was 10 did not mean I was cured.

Progress is not cure. Progress is good, progress is constructive. A cure would be destruction of the person I am.
