Well, since we had the Sensory Integration Nightmare thread I figured why not flip the coin and concentrate on those sensory experiences we like or love.

For me... I love cats' fur. To pet and cuddle with a cat.

I also like stroking my own hair, especially while I'm falling asleep.

Rocking, nodding, and flapping are also great ways to pass time.

I enjoy a darkish room with candles and my fireplace dvd playing.

Also, some good music that gets me moving. (Just recently I had fun DLing Michael Jackson's full version of Thriller. I'd never heard it before except for a blurb here and there. :D )

So, what about you???

Ahhh, being warm in a blanket when it's cold.

pink and purple.

anything shiny or sparkly / glittery. especially that rainbow-coloured shiny holographic wrapping paper stuff, whatever it's called (I just call it 'stimmy paper' )

cuddly toys  I love giving hugs and cuddles, but don't like being hugged so much, unless it's nice tight hugs :)

tight clothes too (but not tight around the neck, gives me headaches)

I have very sensitive fingers. I love to feel and touch absolutely everything, especially soft fabrics and anything fluffy (cats are nice but I can't touch them too much as I get an allergic reaction). massage is a bit like hugs, giving someone a massage is especially pleasurable but being massaged isn't so nice, I'd rather be scratched.

music, well it depends on the music, music can be painful but the right music brings me out in goosebumps all over  also playing the piano, which combines both musical and fingertip stimmyness :)

I love running around the house and jumping up and down for no reason at all...

better stop there, I could go on and on!

Rolling myself completely up in a blanket.

Being underwater. It's a shame I need to breathe, because I love being submerged.

The sound and feel of a cat purring.

Making out, a.k.a. French kissing. Unfortunately, my lack of skills doesn't allow that to happen very often.

That would be being able to live in a world entirely made of cotton.

sight: the colour turquoise, shiny things and paintings by j w waterhouse.

sound: bass guitar.

touch: having my scalp rubbed and applying pressure to the area between my nose and top lip.

taste: pineapple, coca-cola.

smell: petrol, berry-scented toiletries.

I used to love to sleep in the car when I was a kid. Even when I was a baby. When I couldn't get to sleep, my mother would drive me around the neighborhood.

A cloudless fall afternoon, 75 degrees with a slight breeze as I lie on a blanket at the beach (in Rockaway, Queens) listening to my favorite music on a Sony discman and one of those $30 set of good headphones that produce the highest sound quality.

And at the same time, eating a Ms. Winner's chicken meal (hot and spicy) and feeding some of it to the sea gulls. Then afterwards, getting up, taking off my shoes and wading in the cool surf feeling the water on my legs and letting the sound of the waves hitting shore sooth me.

Awesome Idea for a thread.

OMG, Me too!! !! !! !! !! !! I get a rush whenever I see bling items in shops that appeal.

Here are some more of mine:

The vibrations of my cats purr, and the sound, and the feel of her fur. I often put my head against her when she purrs.

Old school rock music.

You know those fancy string ties that tie curtains back? well they have a short stringy bit on the end. I love to touch that. (here's a picture of one) http://barrymasonphoto.com/images/inter ... 717_45.jpg

Satin

The feel of my cat's little tongue on my hand.

Rain patting on leaves

The smell of nice food cooking

The sound and touch of water. (Not powerful water like waves, but still water.)

The sound of the forest

The feel of sheepskin

Most things extremely soft

The rush i get from shopping

Rolling around chocolate mousse on my tongue

+ hundreds more
