Micrsoft Task Launcher-Microsoft works word processor HELP!

This is driving me absolutely crazy. I have Microsoft Task Launcher, and Microsoft Works Word Processor is on there. I can add words to the custom dictionary, but I cannot figure out how to take them out.

I've searched every corner of the web. They all have things like ''Go to Tools, options, Spelling & Grammar Tab'' or ''Microsoft shared > Proof > Custom.dic''. Or to do a spelling check after typing a mispelt word and selecting custom dictionary.

I HAVE NONE OF THESE.

No custom.dic, no tabs on Tools|Options...nothing. I can add words, but I reall want to take them away.

But HOW? I can't focus on writing with this problem...I know it's wierd, but I just can't. And it's really starting to depress me.

This may help, looks like you have to go into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof and click the custom.dic file, and delete any words you want to remove from the custom dictionary. Hope this helps Dean Foley.

I already said in the the opening post. I've tried, there is no custom.dic file.

I would say maybe get some Microsft Works for Dummies Book.

The files are hidden, open explorer, go to tools, folder options, click on the view tab, and place a check mark on Show hidden files and folders, the click apply and ok, you should see that file after that.
I always have it selected and should have asked if it was on your computer.

Thanks for trying to help, but I've just tried it and I still can't find custom.dic.

try doing an advanced (hidden files included) search but instead of searching for "custom.dic", search for "*.dic", to see all the .dic files.

This is true. I've not used MS Works in a long time, however the last time I used it, you couldn't open up an MSWord file. --Open Office will do this with no problems.
