I think you can suffer and be limited from something but still be content. For me just the ASD is disabling in some ways, but it's ok.

I think it's because people need to be recognised by other people. If you tell someone they're bad all throughout their life, they feel pressure and doubt themselves or even begin to think of themselves as bad too.

Good points.

Personally I've never found my AS limiting in any way. I can compensate for my social deficits by learning and being alert to the behaviours of others.
