Hope is ok that I am posting this in General Autism Discussion....I figure this section gets looked at the most....

We have been toying with the idea of um....meeting up...like at a restauraunt or something...and I am starting this thread as a means of coordinating the get-together....

When and where would be a good time for everyone....

Sunday is a pretty decent day for me...and I live on the Southeast Side....kinda near Downtown...but edging out towards Pasadena....and well......
um....

yarrr.....don't know what to say....

OK...here is the link to the Aspies from Texas thread..where the idea of a meet-up is toyed with

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt70574.html

My suggestion for a restauraunt is a Chinese restauraunt near Gulfgate Mall called 888...they are really really good...and reasonably priced.
As I said...Sundays are good....Saturdays are good for me...I sorta work during the day on weekdays...but only a few hours a day...

I'm in Deer Park, but will be going to school in San Marcos (near Austin) in 3 weeks.

Would you have any objections to driving to the Southish side of Houston for a WP meetup type thingy?...This has to do with the locations of multiple Houston-dwelling peoples on the board I think...

Saturday or Sunday around lunch time is good for me. I'm down for 888 Chinese.

Also, for those who don't drive...depending on where you're located, I'm willing to pick up people on the southwest side of Houston, since I live in that area.

Poopy (et al),

I'm hoping for central (IE inside 610) but leaning towards downtown (or TaftStreet Coffee)

Jeffrey

PS: We can use the art gallery to meet in and (with a couple weeks notice) can
have access to the HDTV projection system for viewing presentations or other
educational films.

There's a lot of fun stuff downtown. But southeast Houston is good as well.

Hm. If we meet-up before the 10th on Saturday, we'll lose Brandon. Assuming some of ya'll might be working or in summer school, we can go meet up this Friday night?

If you guys plan on meeting up again in the future, I am game, but right now I am generally busy with packing up to move and trying to finish some projects, because I am flatbroke and need to make some cash. Once I get into a groove, it's a pain to interrupt it, because getting it back is the hardest thing in the world.

Anyway, I live in Deer Park/Pasadena and don't drive, BUT if I could convince my roommate to attend as well (yeah, he has all those nifty social problems, too), then I have a ride, otherwise...well, otherwise blah blah blah. So yeah, if your meetup goes well, and the SE-side wasn't a hassle for you guys, then you have another chick to add to the roster of any future meetups.

Thanks,
be well.

Alright. Me and Olivia talked about this briefly and it was suggested that the 888 Chinese restaurant might be too small of a place so we're wanting to change the meetup place to the Marq*E Entertainment Center near where 610 and I-10 intersect. The place has several restaurants, a huge arcade, a movie theatre, and other things. We're setting a date for next Sunday, August 17th (at lunchtime, noon-ish). That way Tim will be able to hang with us. Sorry Flipmode :| it seems we didn't get it together before the 10th. Hopefully we'll get to see you and Celeste at a later meetup :thumright:

How do ya'll feel about this new location, date, and time :chin:
